Classroom Expectations
Conversation: Students are expected to be silent or on a whisper level depending on the classroom activity.
Help: Students are expected to raise their hand or ask an elbow partner.
Activity: The activity varies from day to day and time of the day (i.e. reading, math,etc.).
Movement: Most of the time students will be in their seats, but considering that we have activities, the movement will vary depending on the activity.
Particitpation: Students will work by themselves the majority of the time, but there are also times that students will work with partners and in groups.
Success: A great start to being a super student, great leader and a responsible citizen.
Homework Policy
Students will be given homework everyday except on Fridays.
Homework must be completed and returned in the homework folder and signed by a parent or guardian.
All homework is due the next day.
If homework is not completed, returned, or signed, the student will not receive points which will decrease their chances of reaching their Dojo goal for the month.
I will call or send a note home if homework does not come to school with the above mentioned requirements.
Students and homework are an example of responsibility and helps to give the student more practice on a skill already taught in the classroom.
Parent Involvement and Monthly Meetings
Students must wear a uniform each and every day.
All classwork must be neat and completed on time.
The classroom is always open. As a teacher, I highly recommend for you to visit the classroom and even volunteer.
Each month, starting in September. The focus will be on skills that are being taught. We will have fun creating make and take activities for you to use at home with your child.
In addition, two families will be selected as Family of the Month for each month.
The criteria for Family of the Month includes:
Student must display good behavior everyday.
Student wearing a uniform everyday.
Student must turn in homework on time everyday according to the requirements.
